Blackpool Pleasure Beach PARTY TIME!

Blackpool Pleasure Beach is celebrating summer by holding a super fun family party!

This Saturday the 18th, They are open 10am – 10pm, and after 4pm the park will come come alive with a fantastic party atmosphere with Guest Bands & DJ’s.

Summer Holidays at the Miniature Railway

Colchester Carnival and Fun Day!

Saturday 18th July only. 11am – 8pm

Colchester Carnival returns to the town centre and Castle Park!

This year’s procession (from 1pm) will have the theme ‘Heroes and Villains’.  Get out those favourite costumes!

FREE Daytime Stargazing!

Saturday 18th July, 12pm – 4pm

Take a look at our nearest star through specialist solar telescopes in the field behind Great Notley Country Park’s Discovery Centre, a short walk from the car park. North Essex Astronomical Society will be on hand to answer questions.

This event is free, yet there is a small cost for the carpark.

Observing is weather-dependent. If it is cloudy, you may not get to see anything; if it is raining they will call the event off, so check before you go.

Formby Festival!

Saturday 18th July – 11.00 am to 11.00 pm

Sunday 19th July  – 11.00 am to 6.00 pm

A fun, family event with live bands, display arena, foods from around the world, craft and artisan food exhibitors, chef demonstrations, and various other attractions including inflatable’s, zorbing, go karts, archery, wood carving!

There are also many charities at the event raising funds for their good cause. Of course don’t forget the fantastic MUSICAL FIREWORK DISPLAY on Saturday night and the KATUMA SAMBA BAND on the Sunday. Why not see if you can stay on the Rodeo Bull the longest!?

Walthamstow Garden Party, Lloyds Park!

Ready to celebrate the start of the summer holidays? Then get yourselves to Lloyd’s park for a lively weekend of music, theatre, dance, circus, film, spoken word, crafts and family fun. Featuring four stages, stalls and an extraordinary range of street food too!

There is a fun Mini Garden Party with interactive storytelling, a mini disco, an adventure playground and the chance to meet salamanders, giant millipedes and snakes. There’s a Family skate jam, Sport’ability area, kids yoga in East of Eden, outdoor performances, Barbican pop-up cinema and the fabulous sounding Craft marquee.  Screen printing, pendants & door signs making and decorating, create a medieval inspired fairytale booklet using paper printing plus the chance for kids aged 8+ to make their very own multi-note xylophone – wowzers!

Top Tip! Watch Wood Street Walls’ artists paint bespoke murals live over the weekend. You and the kids can get involved too – contribute to a collaborative mural or use stencils and spray paint to make a personalised wooden sign to take home.

Uncover Roman Secrets at the Museum of London!

Saturday 18th July, various times from 11am onwards

Part of the Museum of London’s Festival of Archaeology, this Saturday Is Family Day where secrets of Roman Londoners where you and the kids get the chance to investigate what archaeology can reveal about life in Roman London!

Through workshops, kids can discover what the Romans ate,  where they came from and even how they died!. Let the kids write their own Roman-style curse, create a magic mosaic, see the remains of Roman meals from nearly 2000 years ago, get up close and personal with Roman skeletons.

They can even explore what it was like to be a Roman Londoner by trying on costumes and playing Roman games!

Family Fun at Cockle Row Cottages!

Come along and enjoy family fun at Cockle Row Cottages, Groomsport Harbour in Belfast!

The FREE entertainment from 2pm – 4pm includes:

Summer Steam Trains!

Every weekend until 13th September, 2pm – 5pm

£6 adults, £4.50 kids, family £18

Downpatrick & Co Down Railway in Northern Ireland has steam trains are running for those kids to enjoy rides on!

Head down for a train trip through the Co. Down countryside, and visit their museum, carriage gallery and shop.

Have a trip to the historic Inch Abbey, and have drinks and a snack in our buffet before you return home. Great way to spend a few hours with kids – and a great day out for grown-ups too.

Boxsmall Festival in Edinburgh

July 18th and 19th, 10am – 7pm

A fun family festival at Princes Mall, with kids shows throughout the day.

There are craft traders, food traders, and two unique ‘show boxes’ present regular daily children’s mini performances, lasting up to 10 minutes each. Children are immersed in an interactive and hands-on mini theatre environment, taking them on a fun and memorable journey. Amazing!
